In this session, Dr. Erfurth will be discussing inequality from a historical perspective, including latest research on inequality from antiquity until today.
Dr. Philipp Erfurth (PhD) is a scholar with a research focus on inequality and an economist at the United Nations in New York. He previously worked as an economist in the Global Economic Research Team at Morgan Stanley in London. Philipp holds a PhD degree in Economics from the City University of New York, with a thesis supervised by Professor Branko Milanovic and Nobel Prize Laureate Paul Krugman, and holds a master's degree in international relations and economics from SAIS. He also holds bachelor degrees in economics as well as history from Utrecht and Bologna University, respectively. He has various academic publications on inequality and related themes and his work has been cited in the Financial Times, the Economist, Reuters and other major media outlets.
